When’s the best time to do a brand shoot? (And what you might not have thought about)

Are you thinking about booking a brand shoot but not sure when’s the right time? You’re not alone! Timing your session well can make a big difference - not just in how your photos turn out, but how you feel on the day. Here are a few things to consider before you pick a date:

1. Are you updating your brand or website?

If you’ve just had a rebrand, launched a new service, or your website is in need of an update, it’s the perfect time for new images. Your visuals should reflect where your business is now - not where it was two years ago.

2. Do you have any big campaigns or launches coming up?

Whether it's a course, product, or event - plan your shoot a few weeks before your launch so you’ve got fresh content ready to go. This saves you from any last-minute panic searching for decent headshots.

3. Do you feel good in yourself?

This one’s important. If you’re feeling run-down, overwhelmed, or just not quite yourself - it’s OK to wait. You want to feel confident and present during your shoot.

4. Consider your cycle (if it applies!)

You might notice you feel more confident & energised at certain points in your cycle. The week after your period is often a great time to book in, while the days right before might leave you feeling more sluggish or bloated. Know your body, and work with it if you can!

5. Plan for prep time

Give yourself at least a couple of weeks to prepare. Outfits, locations, props, a bit of mindset prep - it all helps you show up feeling relaxed and ready. Rushing never looks good in photos.

In summary: the best time for a brand shoot is when you feel aligned, have a clear idea of how you want to show up, and have the time to prep properly.
